    Prosecutes and defends in a range of serious and high-profile criminal cases, including offences of homicide, baby shaking, child abuse and multi-defendant drug conspiracies. Regularly instructed as a leading junior.

    A Level 4 prosecutor (including RASSO panel), he is regularly instructed in cases involving serious sexual offences, including complex and sensitive cases involving children and historic sexual abuse. He was selected as one of 12 trainers on the programme of Vulnerable Witness Training of all barristers on the North Eastern circuit.

    • R v A & W (CPS Sheffield) Instructed as leading junior. Baby-shaking case, both Defendants represented by leading and junior counsel;
    • Operation Ebony (CPS Complex Case Unit) Instructed as leading junior.  11 Defendant conspiracy to supply cocaine throughout the North-East of England;
    • R v Yaar and Hussain (CPS Leeds) – Instructed as leading junior to prosecute a conspiracy to murder. Both Defendants represented by leading and junior counsel;
    • R v A (Defence) Defending a man alleged to have raped his sister;
    • Operation Stovewood (CPS Organised Crime Division) Prosecuting a male alleged to have groomed vulnerable girls in the Rotherham area;
    • R v Barnes et all (Defence) Customs and Excise fraud, valued at in excess of £2 million;
    • R v Brand (CPS Newcastle) Prosecution of male charged with Manslaughter;
    • R v H (Defence) Defendant charged with the Manslaughter of her own child.
