Jess Butterell successfully appeals sentence obtaining a four month reduction in sentence for her client.

Earlier this month, Jess Butterell appeared in the Court of Appeal, Criminal Division, to appeal the sentence of her client received in Sheffield in November 2023.

Tony Dunne leading Jess Butterell appeared for the prosecution in a five-week trial at Leeds Crown Court in which the Defendant was sentenced on Friday.

The case concerned twenty-four counts of indecent assault committed against schoolboys between 1976 and 1994, of which the Defendant was convicted of twenty-three.

Becky Jane secures suspended sentence order in a two-count blackmail case in York Crown Court. The court were satisfied that an immediate custodial sentence was not required, and community conditions could be imposed alongside a 12-months custodial sentence, suspended for 18 months.

Manisha Marwaha advised and successfully represented the SSHD, who sought to intervene in family proceedings concerning an application by a Nigerian national for a Female Genital Mutilation Protection Order (FGMPO).
