Ian Franklin, 33, has been jailed for life with a minimum term of 21 years for the fatal stabbing of Gregory Marshall in York. Prosecuted by Rupert Doswell KC and Jane Brady of St.Paul’s Chambers, Franklin was convicted after a complex eight-week trial involving contested video, audio, and DNA expert evidence.
Detective Sergeant Rebecca Prentice of North Yorkshire Police said: “This has been a very complex investigation, with many challenges in understanding the motives and circumstances that led to Mr Marshall’s tragic death.”
