Sam Ponniah, instructed by the CPS as part of Operation Venetic, recently successfully prosecuted two defendants in relation to a major drugs conspiracy in the Doncaster area.
One defendant, world champion level boxing trainer Andrew Bulcroft, was found to have been involved in a large scale drugs operation, in which he was buying kilograms of cocaine on a regular basis for onward supply. The case involved extensive phone evidence and Mr Bulcroft was unanimously convicted by a jury after a four day trial. The other defendant, Benjamin Williams, entered a guilty plea shortly before trial.
The case has received national press coverage and is due for sentencing in August.
Sam is regularly instructed in large scale drugs conspiracy offences. He is particularly commended for his ability to marshal large volumes of complex evidence, cutting through to the real issues at the heart of a case.
