We are delighted to announce that Rupert Doswell has been appointed King’s Counsel in the new Silk appointments announced today. Rupert is a specialist criminal practitioner and will receive his letters patent this year.

The appointment was made by His Majesty the King on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, following consideration by the independent King’s Counsel Selection Panel.

Head of Chambers David Brooke KC said: “I am absolutely delighted for Rupert. It is extremely well-deserved and overdue. I am quite sure that he will have a superb career in Silk.”

On behalf of the clerking team in Chambers Senior Clerk Jayne Turner said: “The Clerks would like to congratulate Mr Rupert Doswell on his elevation to Silk. Rupert has been head of our criminal team for a number of years and his appointment is welcome news. This is an outstanding personal achievement for Rupert and is thoroughly deserved. We have seen his career in Chambers flourish and he was a sought after leading junior for the most serious of cases on the North Eastern circuit and beyond.”

All of Chambers offer their warmest congratulations to Rupert on his very well deserved appointment to KC. This is welcome and wonderful news for all!
