Andrew Pickin represented the Appropriate Authority in police misconduct proceedings where a former officer of West Yorkshire Police had made a claim under his wedding insurance, following the cancellation of his wedding, but also claimed various refunds for the same services from individual vendors, fraudulently benefitting by around £5,000. The Panel found that the conduct was a breach of the professional standards and constituted gross misconduct, also finding the former officer would have been dismissed had he remained in service.
