Civil

Industrial disease work, in particular Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome/Vibration White Finger and Noise Induced Hearing Loss Claims form an extensive part of personal injury practice.

Represents Claimants and Defendants in personal injury and road traffic accident claims both on the small, fast and multi track. Also advises on liability and quantum and drafts statements of case.

Practices in employment law acting for both the Claimant and Defendant at Tribunals all over the country. Initially started practicing in this area through the Free Representation Unit in 2002.

Represents Claimants and Defendants in general civil litigation.

Accepts instructions to advise and represent clients in a wide range of family law matters with a particular focus on complex contact disputes.

Having appeared in the Court of Appeal, acts for the asylum/immigration claimant/applicant at all levels of the Tribunal and higher court system.

Represented the Claimant in a successful claim for judicial review challenging the decision of the Secretary of State to refuse to accept representations on behalf of a Sri Lankan Tamil as amounting to a fresh claim for asylum: Sivanesan v SSHD [2008] EWHC (Admin) 1146

Acted for the Appellant before the Court of Appeal at a successful substantive hearing challenging the application of the policy relating to the use of enforcement action against the parents of children with seven years continual residence in the United Kingdom: NF (Ghana) v SSHD 2008 EWCA Civ 906

Acted for the Claimant in R (an application of Ranjan & Others) v SSHD [2007] EWHC (Admin) 3288 dealing with the risk on return to Sri Lanka for Tamils, cited with authority in the case of NA v The United Kingdom [2008] ECHR 616
