Criminal Law

Practice includes both Prosecution and Defence.

Level 3 prosecutor

Prosecutes and defend Criminal matters in the Crown Courts on the North Eastern Circuit. Recent cases include offences of rape, wounding with intent, conspiracy to supply drugs, robbery, fraud, forgery and aggravated burglary.

Prosecuted a seven-handed nationwide conspiracy to burgle case which involved a team of professional offenders committing over 60 offences of burglary against elderly and vulnerable householders. As a result of prosecuting this case I was personally invited to speak at a National Police Conference advising forces on how to investigate and prosecute these offences.

Have been instructed as junior counsel in serious violent, sexual and fraud cases.

Attended training in prosecuting serious sexual offences and in the use of intermediaries to assist vulnerable witnesses.

Fee-Paid Tribunal Judge of the Social Entitlement Chamber

Chair Tribunals consisting of a medical practitioner and a disability specialist that hear appeals from individuals that contest the decision of the Department of Work and Pensions to disallow certain benefits.
