Areas of Practice
Criminal Law
Prosecutes and defends in the Crown Court. Recent cases include prosecuting offences of wounding with intent, child abduction, making indecent images, sexual assault and drugs supply and defending cases of wounding with intent, sexual assault, possession of prohibited firearms, drugs importation and fraud.
Prosecution junior, led by Nicholas Campbell Q.C., in R v D, a case involving the alleged rape of a young woman with Down's Syndrome and by Adrian Waterman Q.C. advising on a potential manslaughter prosecution.
Has also been led by Tina Dempster (prosecuting a lorry hijacking involving complex cell site telephone evidence) Paul Cleasby (defending in a large scale drugs conspiracy) and Sarah Mallett (defending in a fraud case with an international dimension.)
Has appeared before the Administrative Court in judicial review proceedings connected with a high-profile criminal prosecution and before the Court of Appeal Criminal Division both alone and being led by Andrew Robertson Q.C. in R v Fulton, a case involving the CCRC.
Has undergone training in prosecuting serious sexual offences and in the use of intermediaries to assist vulnerable witnesses and is a Level 3 prosecutor (including rape panel).
